Best ways to update windows photo viewer

This is another useless utility that covers a function Windows already does well. The Windows ecosystem already encourages updates, with almost every program have a 'nag' function or automatic updates. Windows itself finally has a good update system, although it reboots when you don't want. Waste of money. More

I use Software Updater to update software on my computer. It's been pretty reliable and no fuss. It'll asks me every time there are updates.

This is a pretty good solution for Windows 10 users. Before that of course the software wasn't called "apps". I'm not sure if you even can get updates for Windows photo viewer for pre-Windows 10 anymore. But in any case, and updates Microsoft does for the Windows Viewer app will be pushed through automatic updates, so turning it one means you won't have to think about it anymore. More

Everyone who knows me knows that I am a very impatient man. Especially when I am working on my pc and all of a sudden it begins to update. It always seems to update tight in the middle of me working. Upon surfing the net I can across How to Automatically Update Everything on Your PC, pc world. I read it was ever so thankful for it. I did not know that I can set my pc to update at times that I was not using it. So great of a feature and its automatic, no picking and choosing. Great time and sanity saver. More

Pretty useful if you are tired of having to hunt down reliable updates on your own, risking downloading hidden malware or old, unusable, versions of the apps you are trying to update. Recently got this in an attempt to bypass all the phony "download" or "update" links I wound up clicking by mistake on unreliable sites. More

This solution is a good method for updating all applications on Windows PC. The issue is that it lacks any information on Windows Photo Viewer. The information should still generally apply but I think it could have been better. More

I downloaded this thinking I could use it to update windows Photo Viewer in a similar way to how package managers on linux can be used to update similar apps. But even though Ninite calls itself a "package manager" it doesn't seem to be one in the same sense as those on linux. It really only allows you to select from a handful of applications to be automatically installed or updated. Windows Photo Viewer is not one of them. So you only really have a choice of installing another (admittedly better) photo viewer. For some reason it also uses settings from internet explorer, a browser even microsoft is trying to convince people to stop using nowadays. It solves the issue in the sense that it gives you a better photo viewer but if you want an updated version of Windows Photo Viewer itself, you probably have to stick to windows update. More
