"I am indie video game designer and have a limited budget for music for my games. A friend of mine recommended ccMixter. Now I have access to thousands of high quality tracks that I can use for free in my games. All I have to do is credit the artist. I would recommed ccMixter to someone who wants an affordable way to add professional music to their projects."

"I love to download music, but I hate paying .99 cents a song (looking at you, iTunes)...and I hate feeling like a crook when I download songs for free from illegal sites. Incompetech gives me the ability to download free and legal music. It's free, and legal, and music...what more could you ask for? "

"This is not a website I would recommend for downloading any type of popular music. It really covers non-mainstream downloads and doesn't have any of the newest songs I'm looking for that I hear on the radio."

"Remember the days when you built your digital music collection through Napster illegally? When now you can do the same...but LEGALLY! I really like the different categories you can search music by on Musopen, from genre to instrument, and even form (duet, sonata, etc.)! This would be great for music teachers and students to get broad exposure to different styles. "

"I've always been worried about downloading free music in the internet because you never know if it's legal or not. However, with this site-Partners in Rhyme- you can breathe safely knowing that all the content you download is not only free but legal as well. The majority(if not all) the songs in their catalog are royalty free and have no copyright attached to them, so always know that whatever you decide to download is totally fine by the artists that produced their music. Personally, I used a lot of their music for my new website and youtube videos. It has been an amazing experience!"

"Decent radio program. Gives a lot of variety in it's "spiking tracks and spiking artists" section so you can keep getting fresh music. Site is a little cluttered and has an annoying counter on the main screen that never stops though."

"Though the quality is pretty low, Jamendo itself is a wonderful place to get legal music for free. So long as you credit the creators, they're perfectly fine with you using it for just about anything at all. Some stuff sounds perfect for movies, others for books, so you have to sort through it, but it's still a good place to start."

"I needed to find a good website to download free and legal music. I'm a huge music fan, but don't have a lot of money to work with. I found Soundcloud and, although some of the music is very good, it doesn't have any of my favorite artists. The music is unique and you either like it or hate it most of the time. It's nice that it's free, but since they don't have any of the music I like or popular artists, I don't recommend it at all."

"This software is a pretty decent application for finding new music through Youtube playlists. I've used it for about a month or so now and have found quite a few different artists out there that I may not have found otherwise. I do use Spotify and Pandora so I guess I could have found them through that. The interface from this was pretty easy, though. Definitely made searching much easier. "

"This is one of the oldest running platforms for music. The thing is, it's not free. It has a free trial and then you pay for it. There's countless other free platforms for free and legal music. This is not one of them. Overall, it's worth it if you want some niche music picks but it's somewhat pricy for what it offers when alternatives do it better."

Music is uploaded and you can download for free or even buy or sell your own music. It does not have everything since that would be illegal but it has a nice variety that I enjoy."
