DID YOU KNOW?
Dubbed as the "Ace of Tamil Cinema", Chiyaan Vikram has truly solidified his title with his award-winning roles in some of the best Tamil movies. Yet, did you know that Vikram's debut film was a total disaster? Yes, you read that right, he's an epitome of a success story. Vikram starred in this first-ever film En Kadhal Kanmani on October 17, 1990. Well, the Tamil movie revolved around romance and it didn't really touch the hearts of the viewers. Actually, his initial films were a total flop until his first Malayalam film Dhruvam in 1993. It was the time he earned a spot in the limelight. After Dhruvam's success, Vikram starred in 20 regional films in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu between 1990 and 1998. The next thing he knew, his movies became a staple in a lot of Tamil movie sites.
He celebrated his 29 years in the industry in 2019 and yet, the award-winning superstar's career never seem to cease. From Kollywood to Hollywood, his acting prowess has become critically acclaimed by international filmmakers. Interestingly, he revealed in an interview that he recently rejected an offer from Hollywood. And take note, it was a bid budget Keanu Reeves-starrer! According to an article in The New Indian Express, Vikram revealed that the reason for the rejection is because he thought his role in the film was relatively small. As many fruitful projects are yet to come for him, we look forward for the next batch of South Indian movies!
