DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that Robert Downey Jr. almost failed to get the role of Iron Man? Hard as it may seem to image, Marvel producers quick to insist that they were "Under no circumstances prepared to hire him at any price" due to his drug habits and alcoholism. Although Downey expressed his interest in the role, these factors gave off red flags for the company. But lo and behold, Downey's persistence, according to director and executive producer Jon Favreau, landed him a screen test and eventually, the role of Tony Stark itself. Now it's pretty hard to believe the smart-talking, genius, billionaire in an iron suit played by anyone else.
Although the success of the film, and the subsequent ones that followed all the way up to Avengers: Endgame, was well-known, Marvel's comic book universe is still popular in its own right, with some casual fans even joining the ranks of comic book diehards to better understand the movie's source material. Speaking of comic books, while some fans still stay true to the old methods of acquiring these materials through monthly subscriptions or store purchases, some have chosen to read said materials on the internet. In fact, there are now websites that offer comics books online, which means Marvel comics can now be appreciated through the internet.
