The power of nostalgia never fails to take us back to the late 90s whenever we come across Pokemon Adventures. And it is arguably true that you can never call yourself a certified Otaku if you haven't read a volume of one the longest-running Japanese manga series of all time. If you are not convinced by its voluminosity, take it from Satoshi Tajiri himself, the Japanese video game creator of Nintendo's Pokemon. He once said that Pokemon Adventures is the closest depiction of how he envisioned the world of Pokemon to be. Interestingly, the manga written by Hidenori Kusaka also goes by the title Pocket Monsters Special in its homeland. Yet, although the manga series is greatly inspired by the video games from the Pokemon franchise, it has its own nuances. And these nuances make it stand out from the rest of its other forms. It's kinda dark. It's kinda emotional, we must say. Why? Oh well, having darker elements just means you get to see some Pokemon dying. Yeah, we know, it's sad but interesting!
Anyway, a more interesting fact is that Viz Media celebrated the 20 years of Pokemon Adventure by releasing The Art of Pokemon Adventures. It's a full-color art book! Not just your typical art book but one that features exclusive illustrations, sketches, and storyboards that you have never seen before. For those who missed it, no worries as you can get your hands on the early volumes that start from Red, Green, Blue to Yellow, to Gold, Silver, and Crystal, and so on and so forth are available on our trusted anime websites below. Pokemon Adventures manga awaits you!
