Anime shows based on video games are nothing new with a few titles such as Fatal Fury and Street Fighter being really popular ones back in the 1990s. Some start out as manga first before transitioning into full-fledged anime but there is no denying that video games provide great inspiration for manga and anime creators. With great video game releases happening every year, there is no shortage of options to adapt as well. One of the most notable ones that have come out in recent years are the .hack// and fate/stay night anime series. These two anime franchises have been one of the most popular ones ever made so much in fact, that various spin-offs and sequels are being made for them to this day.

The past few years have seen the continuation of the trend with more releases from the fate/stay night series as well as some new notable additions such as Persona and the instant hit, Castlevania by Netflix. Another series that was just recently announced is Azur Lane, based on the mobile side-scrolling shoot 'em up game created by Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi for iOS and Android devices. The game has been adapted into several manga and novels. A game was made for the PS4 called, Azur Lane Crosswave as well as an anime TV show adaptation premiering on October 3, 2019. If you're wondering if the show is any good and is looking for the best websites to watch Azur Lane online, we got you covered. Check out our list below and tell us what you think of the anime show.

"I just saw the first episode of the Azur Lane anime and I immediately got some Girls und Panzer and Strike Witches kind of vibe from it, which is not a bad thing from this type of show. If you like those anime shows, you'll probably like this one as well."
