Babylon started out as a novel series that was written by Mado Nozaki and illustrated by artist Zain. It was published in 2015 and by 2017, it had a total of three volumes for it. A manga adaptation was made for it and it was created by Nobuhide Takishita. It was serialized on the Comic Days website by publishing company, Kodansha Inc. It ran from February to October 2019, with a total of two volumes. To round everything out, an anime TV series adaptation was made for Babylon. It was animated by Revoroot, produced by Twin Engine, and directed by Kiyotaka Suzuki. The series aired from October 2019 to January 2020 on Tokyo MX, BS11, and AT-X. Amazon Prime Video was also the first to offer the series to audiences worldwide.
The story centers around a public prosecutor named Zen Seizaki. He works in the newly created Shiniki district west of Tokyo. He investigates a pharmaceutical company promoting a defective drug. This is after he received reports of falsified test results by university labs. This leads him down a dark path with a sinister plot involving the mayoral elections and Shiniki's population. This show seems more akin to a police procedural show that we see so often on live-action TV shows but, well, it's anime. Not that there's anything with that. In fact, you don't see this kind of show as often as others. If you're wondering where to watch Babylon anime, we got you covered.
