DID YOU KNOW?
When it comes to action films, we rarely get to see our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters take the spotlight. Well, don't fret, because that is not happening in Darbar anymore! And we really thank its creators for trying to make a difference in the Bollywood industry. Okay, you might have heard that there are going to be scenes in Dabar that honor the transgender community by now. But that's not the only thing that's gonna put the community in the limelight. Did you know that three transwomen - Rachana, Chandramukhi, and Priya - are going to be part of Rajinikanth's new movie Darbar? No, not in the film per se but in its production! Yup, in case you didn't know, they were the ones who sang the 'Kannula Thimir' song in the official soundtrack album of the film. Kudos to everyone who made this happen! Alright, here's what you need to know about them. The rising trio is called 'Spicy Girls,' a band hailing from Hyderabad. They are known for performing at NGO-organized events for over a decade now. Formed in 2006, they are composed of 6-7 members, although it is the three who were able to showcase their talent for Dabar.
If this is your first time hearing about them, then get used to it. After producers learned of their musical prowess, the band has been receiving offers left and right from the Tamil industry. And it happened in just a week! Watch Darbar if you wanna experience their musical magic!
