Who would have thought that Doctor Who has been around since 1963. For those who don't know, it's a British sci-fi TV show produced BBC and yes, it first came out in 1963. The show chronicles the adventures of a Time Lord called "the Doctor" who looks just like any normal human. In reality, he is an extraterrestrial being from the planet Gallifey. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-traveling space ship called TARDIS. Together with companions that he meets along the way, he fights foes while trying to save civilizations and help those in need. The show has pretty much become a part of British pop culture. It has influenced generations of British people, many of whom grew up watching the series.
It initially ran from 1963 to 1989 before it was relaunched back in 2005. It has been in production ever since by BBC Wales in Cardiff. It has even spawned numerous spin-offs such as Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. With a show that has been around since the 1960s, re-casts were to be expected for the role of the Doctor. The show has seen 13 actors play the role of the Doctor over the years. That seems like a lot, doesn't it? Thankfully, the show has somehow thought of a way to incorporate these transitions into the show's plot well. This is with the use of the concept of regeneration, incarnation, and even transferring bodies. If you're looking to watch Doctor Who online, we got you covered!
