Shonen Jump is on a roll with the anime greats that they continue to release throughout the years! You may know their recent titles My Hero Academia and Black Clover that are popular. The new anime Dr. Stone is no exception when it comes to the Shonen Jump high-quality print. What's this anime from the manga series by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi all about anyway? The manga was first published on March 6, 2017, and in two years' time, it got an anime adaptation. Dr. Stone anime aired on July 5, 2019, and the first season will have 24 episodes. The anime is set in a post-apocalyptic world wherein a green light turns everyone into stone. Over three thousand years have passed and it's when the humans revive. It may seem like a simple plot but the humans actually don't all wake up at the same time. In Dr. Stone, the protagonist is the very first person to wake up from turning into stone. The name of the main character is Senku Ishigami and he is an intelligent boy. The young genius is vital in rebuilding their civilization. Since humans reawaken at different times, Senku begins to rediscover the world. Aside from Senku, another interesting character is Taiju, his friend and polar opposite. If Senku is a genius, Taiju relies on his physical strength more. The third and fourth person who wakes up are also important characters to watch out for in the anime!
