It seems that fans want Elsa to have a love interest in Frozen 2. Not only that, but some fans have also speculated that Elsa will have a woman as a love interest in the second film. Even Idina Menzel, the singer, and actress behind Elsa's voice had an opinion about it back in May 2016. In an interview with ET, Menzel said it would be great and that Disney should contend with that. She leaves it to them to figure it out. The idea of Elsa being a gay icon was through the hit song Let It Go. Some of the members of the LGBTQ community think of Let It Go as a coming-out track. The lyrics of the song talk about not trying to hide who she is on the inside. The director Jennifer Lee didn't comment on the speculation. But she is glad that Elsa's character has a connection with different audiences. Elsa is not your ordinary Disney princess and according to the directors, we'll see more of her story on Frozen 2.
On Frozen 2, audiences can see a more focused and determined side of Elsa. Which was already shown briefly on the first Frozen movie. Unlike other Disney movies, Frozen has already crushed Disney's traditions. It wouldn't be a total surprise to see a side of the characters that we haven't seen on other Disney animated films. We get to see Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf in action once again. Revealing parts of them that were perhaps overlooked in the first Frozen movie. Aside from that, the possibility of new characters is high as they welcome new cast members. Actors Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown are voicing some characters on Frozen 2. The characters that they are voicing are yet to be known but they will be introduced in Frozen 2.
