Frozen was released in 2013, but the fanfare isn't likely to wane anytime soon. So, with the foretaste of Frozen 2 coming to theaters, people can't stop asking where to watch Frozen. Some also try to find ways to watch Frozen online. Yet, even though the musical fantasy film has successfully peddled its buzz far and wide, there are a few things that people find shocking about it. For one, did you know that it took 70 years to make this Disney movie? It sounds like a long and arduous journey, right? But yes, the film had technically been in development since 1937, and we have all the creative minds to thank for not letting it go.
During the time, Walt Disney Productions considered the possibility of creating a live-action biography film of author and poet Hans Christian Anderson. Three years later, in 1940, the production house was already in talks with producer Samuel Goldwyn. The original plan was to make live-action sequences about Anderson, along with animated sequences based on his works. This includes The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, and The Snow Queen among others. However, Disney found it hard to create a film adaptation for The Snow Queen - one that would affect the sensibilities of its modern audience. Fast forward to the 1990s, Walt Disney Feature Animation started developing The Snow Queen. Unfortunately, the project got shelved when one of the animators decided to drop it. The next attempt came in 2008, but it was put in vain because the character seemed too villainous for the writers. It was until 2012 that screenwriter Jennifer Lee found a way to make the character work through the song Let It Go. And the storyline revealed itself from there.
