DID YOU KNOW?
Gravity Falls is one of the many top rated cartoons that Disney has released since its foundation back in 1923. Cartoons have been a staple to our childhood experience. Not only Disney, but the whole Cartoon industry itself is a billion-dollar business that has given us iconic characters like Micky Mouse, Tom and Jerry, The Simpsons family, Spongebob Squarepants and many more, whom we've grown to love because of their hilarious skits. But aside from being witty and entertaining, did you know that cartoons can actually benefit your health?
For most people reaching adulthood, this marks the time in their lives where they say hello to responsibilities deemed as more serious and important. They start letting go of activities like watching silly animated shows online or on tv. These responsibilities are not easy. In fact, 17.3 million adults in the U.S. alone have experienced at least one depressive episode. Some people are lucky enough to have access to therapy but some turn to self-medication like watching comedies. And according to therapists, watching cartoons can have a positive impact on your mental health. These shows can act as a support treatment because of their good portrayal of a community order, friendship, family, and teamwork that unknowingly enforces a positive mindset to the viewers. Some people have even vouched that this activity works as a good coping mechanism for them, as they are distracted from their problems, and would, later on, feel better after watching. Still, there is no actual scientific claim to this, but laughter is the best medicine. So if you end up going through a rough patch and want to feel good, then go ahead and stream Gravity Falls, or try to watch Spongebob or Steven Universe online, and other animated cartoons out there to laugh your heart out!
