DID YOU KNOW?
The movie Hustlers based its story on events that happened in real life? On June 11, 2014, four women and a man got indicted. The charge? They allegedly drugged men and charged thousands of dollars on their credit cards. Jessica Pressler is a journalist who published an article on the New York magazine back in 2015. It was "The Hustlers at Scores" and in it, she interviewed the group's supposed ringleaders. They were Roselyn "Rosie" Keo and Samantha "Barbash" Foxx. It recounts the story of a deep friendship that took a turn for the worse and became dark.
The article grabbed the attention of writer and director, Lorene Scafaria. In an interview, she tells that she found it to be a fascinating friendship story at its core. In fact, Keo attended the Toronto International Film Festival to watch the movie. It has only been a week since it premiered but it's already receiving rave reviews from critics. This story is only one of the few real-life events that have had a movie adapted for it. With the way things are going, it very likely to be one of the most memorable drama movies in recent years. Kudos to the Hustlers movie, the director, the cast, and welcome back, J. Lo!
