DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that the 'Richard Jewell' movie almost had Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio as its lead stars? The two co-stars from one of Hollywood's best movies "The Wolf of Wall Street" were set to team up and headline the film. This was also in addition to them sharing production credits. The casting choice was set as early as 2014 before Paul Walter Hauser and Sam Rockwell eventually landed Hill and DiCaprio's roles. If the original plans had pushed through, the Richard Jewell movie cast might have met so much hype. The movie might have been dubbed the next 'The Wolf of Wall Street", except that it was going to be a drama. But, fate took over as the Warner Bros. and Disney merger happened. Casting and production changes took place which also saw veteran film icon Clint Eastwood take over directing duties. There is also the welcome addition of widely-renowned scriptwriter Billy Ray.
'Richard Jewell' is expected to be one of 2019's best releases despite all the pre-production tweaks it has experienced. To put things into perspective, director Eastwood has won four Academy Awards. Those were for directing and production work for “Million Dollar Baby” and two for “Unforgiven.” Scriptwriter Billy Ray also has big works across his name. He served as co-writer of recent Hollywood movies “Gemini Man” and “Terminator: Dark Fate.” After all, how a drama biographical movie about a hero-turned-suspect comes into life is something fans will not shy away from. The 'Richard Jewell' movie's release has also been set for the awards season. This positions itself as a potential Oscar-winning movie. With the caliber of stars and team that the movie has, a box-office reception and success is not too far off.
