DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that South Park creators only need five days to finish one episode of the show? Through technology, it's now much easier for the producers to come up with an episode of the long-running comedy series. In less than a week, each episode is written, animated, recorded, and edited. This is actually how the show remains timely and updated for each episode. It's also how the creators are able to come up with South Park character versions of relevant famous personalities. While the present day episodes take less effort to create, it's pilot episode wasn't exactly the easiest. On the very first episode, creators didn't use computer animation. The pilot was made entirely out of cut paper and stop motion animation. Creating it took three and a half months to finish and cost around $300 thousand. It's no wonder the show's producers changed the style effectively on the next South Park episodes. Its first season also has a slightly more vulgar opening song loaded with many dirty words. This comes to no surprise as the show holds the Guinness Book of World Record for having the most cuss words in an animated series.
The show's unprecedented humor remains one of the reasons why fans never get tired of making time to watch South Park. For 22 seasons now, many continue to laugh at Eric, Kenny, Kyle, and Stan's exploits. While some try to catch the show as it airs on TV, others prefer to stream South Park online. In fact, it's the most popular comedy TV show on Hulu. The show's success is so overwhelming that it would premiere its 23rd season on 2019! Even until then, Comedy Central has no plans on ending the beloved series. There's definitely a lot in store for South Park fans!
