"Dead West was suggested to me, so I gave it a try. I was really surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. It is told by the star of the book, a 12 year boy. I thought it was going to be a horror because of the description, but this is definitely an adventure book at heart. "

"This book is an interesting meld of a historical Western with elements of the supernatural and fantasy. The setting is very vividly described and makes its presence known as a part of the story and the characters are very well-written and developed. The story loses some of its steam later in the book but overall it's a gripping and ambitious story. "
