Did you know that ARK: Survival Evolved is one of the most popular survival games available for Xbox? ARK: Survival Evolved puts players in the shoes of a survivor stranded on a desert island. Although the main goal is to forage and craft supplies and shelter, the islands main hazards are its native dinosaurs. Alongside other prehistoric species, the player will have to navigate not only hostile NPCs, but other player-controlled humans as well. Although the game's development began on 2014 and the official released came 3 years later, an early access title came out during 2015. By August 2016, the early access had already roughly 1.5 million sales solely on the Xbox One platform.
ARK: Survival Evolved also scored a 72/100 rating on PC Gamer, as well as a 7.7/10 review on IGN. Despite all other Xbox One survival games available in stores today, ARK has cemented its position as one of the best open world survival games on the market today. In spite of its popularity, steps to ensure its success has been taken by the game developers. One of these steps is to release its early access title on the 2nd of June, 2015, a few weeks before the release of Jurassic World. According to Jesse Rapczak, the game's director, this was intentionally done to feed into the "dinosaur fever" that came with the film.
