"I knew of the series because of the movies being released and being a big Harry Potter fan, similar genres. When my son and I finished the HP series we went looking for something else. The Percy series really hit the spot. No spoilers for the story, but the book also made my son curious about mythology"

"I am especially interested in this book because it is a book that I will more than likely read. I'm a young adult that loves books with mythical characters. This book has great potential and speaks of characters in the book being able to turn metal into gold and making a potion to become immortal. I wonder what it's like to become immoral. I guess that's something I would never know. I will just explore it in the book."

"Dream Angus by Alexander McCall Smith is one of the books of the Canongate Myths. I've only read one other book in the series, The Penelopiad, by Margaret Atwood, and I truly loved it. I enjoyed this one as well, which is a retelling of the myth of the Celtic god of dreams and love. The book starts out with the tales of how Angus came into being and grew up, and then it has separate stories, alternating between modern and ancient times, of Angus and his doings. One of the stories seemed a bit harsh, but in most of them Angus was a giver of good dreams, enabling people (and sometimes animals) to come to peace with their situations. I really enjoy Alexander McCall Smith's writing style and I love myths, so I was very happy to read this book. Since both of the books I've read in this series were very enjoyable, I may branch out into the other installments of the Myths series as well."

I found this book really charming and a fun book to get for my children. I have two little girls and they Greek mythology and the many gods and goddesses presented to them. It's good to see a series of books geared towards presenting these goddesses to children in a very accessible manner in which they can feel empowered. Pick up the whole series, it's' worthwhile and really enjoyable for the kids as well as parents."

"Even though I'm an adult I really enjoy Japanese games, music, and television. So I decided to try out this YA book, because there aren't many written with the setting of Japan. I give the author kudos for that - for the most part US YA authors keep the setting in the US, so this at least tries something. I would say it it fairly standard fare, but you can tell the author took some unusual-to-American Japanese concepts and cultural items and blew them way out of proportion. Not bad, and it is interesting to have some Japanese mythology brought in, but I would say it is better for people who aren't big fans of Japanese culture rather than the reverse."
