"The Catcher in the Rye is a sort-of solution to the problem. This book centers around a narator who is 16 years old, so in this aspect it would appear to the Young Adult genre. However, the book was originally published in 1951 so it may have an old-fashioned appeal that modern youth won't like."

A whole lot was going on at once - a rebellious young woman in a wartime setting, possibly being used by the School, and of course there was the romance to boot! However, I am a sucker for period literature, and I found myself flipping page after page, excited to see what was going to happen next in Georgie's adventure! As an adult, it's kind of odd that I'd find myself enjoying a Young Adult book like this, but I can see my 13-year old self enjoying this as well!"

"Well, this was an interesting concept. My friend handed me this book, The Hypnotist's Love Story. I gave it a quick read as it was pretty light and fast paced to go through. I'm not sure I really enjoyed it. I thought the concept was interesting as the romance was centered around a hypnotherapist. It had a lot of promise but I felt in the end it left me kind of flat. In other words, I didn't really elicit much of an emotion or reaction from this story. There seem to be so many opportunities to really expand and take the story in so many directions with this topic and theme, but it never really took off for me. Maybe you have to be in a certain kind of mood to really soak this all in, but I found it rather shallow for my liking."
