"If you're looking for young adult books about ghosts, If I Stay is not for you. There are no supernatural elements in this book, which is a shame because ghosts or something might have made this more readable."

"Glass Houses The Morganville Vampires is a terrible solution for young adult books about ghosts, because the book is about Vampires not ghost."

"There are much better novels about ghosts for young adults out there. While yes, our main character, Kylie, can see ghosts and meets all kinds of supernatural creatures, the book has no depth. The main character is grating and annoying. The writing is subpar for the young adult genre as well."

"Yes, yes, yes! The Hidden Hollow by Jessica Verday is the perfect example of a book about ghosts for young adults. It is part of a series so to get a better understanding you might want to start at the beginning of the series, then you won't want to put them down."

"This book seemed to me to be an improvement over The Ninth Key, the second of the series. The plot made much more sense, the ending didn’t feel rushed, and we finally meet Gina, Suze’s best friend from New York that she brings up so much. A major positive for me is that Suze is only interested in Jesse in this book, instead of salivating over any boy that comes near her as she did in the last two books. I was also pleased that, for the first time, she looked at things from the perspective of the ghosts, rather than just trying to get rid of them without hearing their side of the story. Without giving too much away, this story made me think a little about justice. Suze has a choice to make in the end – while all the characters in question have acted terribly, she must decide who and how they will punished for their crimes."

"I'm a fan of this author in general and was putting off reading this book just because I am sometimes afraid of ghosts and other spooky beings, haunted houses and such. I'm glad I finally picked it up because it is a great read even if I might not want to read it before bed. This book takes place in an abandoned mental hospital which sets the scene for a delightfully spooky story. The author does a great job of painting the picture and setting the scene, and it is hard to put the book down until the very end. Highly recommended."

"My daughter is in 8th grade and loves Laurie Stolarz books. She reads everything she can get her hands on about ghosts. I got her Project 17 and it kept her glued to the book until she finished it. This book deals with the paranormal but it is more suspenseful than scary. My daughter said that it was a little creepy at times but she loved it. "

""Sky in the Deep" is an amazing YA book for the fans of the genre. It's been published just recently and has already fascinated many readers with the strong female lead. Is it about the ghosts though? It's more like a viking goodness than a book about ghosts but I'll let it pass. "

"I really liked this book as well as the series, but it's not a book for young adults. This is a distinctly adult book, with adult themes and writing. It's also not as much about ghosts as it is about heaven and hell, although the two are obviously related. But if Dante's Inferno piques your interest at all then this might be right up your alley, and much easier to get into. I'm going to continue to read this series and I enjoyed this book, even if it doesn't fit the category (hence the lower rating)."
