"I found this book very cliche. It's the basic boy meets girl story. While I never found it revolutionary it is well written and tells a good story. Although it's a story we've all heard a thousand times, just in a different setting. "

"I really love this book. It isn't a typical mystery that you can sort of switch out with all the other typical mysteries. It left me guessing and really wanting to know answers. I couldn't put it down and was disappointed when I was finished. "

"This is a fun series of books that my daughter literally devoured when she was younger. I'm sort of surprised to see this listed as a young adult series, though, since she read this when she was in 5th or 6th grade. I'm not sure she'd be as captivated by it, now, and she's just a teen. I've read these too, at the breakfast table, when I was just hanging out. They're cute and fun - and I'd highly recommend them for a younger child."

"On a lark, I reread this as a 63 year-old because it was such a favorite when I was about 8 or 9. I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed this re-read. Of course this is not "good" literature and like all the Nancy Drew books I read as a child is formulaic. Unfortunately, I don't think my daughter would want her daughter reading these books, simply because they are not "good" literature. However, I couldn't believe how exciting it was today as it was back then. I couldn't put it down. I liked the simplicity and yet the plot at the same time. It sparkled for me and not just from bringing back memories of childhood. Of course, it's a quick read. I don't think there is anything wrong with getting a reluctant reader to get hooked on these. Nancy Drew hooked me on reading more than any other books and I can imagine younger girls today might want to devour them as I did back in the early 60's."

"This one was a little strange, i read this on a plane ride. It was not what i expected it to be . Although i found it very interesting and finished the book pretty fast. I more than likely think this one was geared towards young children. Not to say that adults won't find it a good book as well but in my opinion that is what i think it was geared towards. "

"My teen is looking for some reading material over the summer, and she really likes mysteries. I wanted to get a few for her as a gift. Trixie Belden is not going to work. The reading level and plot are for a much younger audience. I would say about 4th to 6th grade, definitely not a teen. It looks like a great book for that age level, just not what I'm looking for."
