"First book in a great series that is written by Alan Bradley. Though it is set a long time ago in the years of the 1950s, there is so much people of today's era can take from this!"

"As I grew up in the 50s, I'm always looking for coming of age novels set in that era. I had high hopes for Mister Death's Blue-Eyed Girls. I don't know what Ms. Hahn's life was like, but I can tell you we had more important things to think about than who had a taller boyfriend, especially when there were murders afoot! Totally unbelievable, and not very well written, either."

"I read this before the summer of my senior year in high school. My friends were not a big fan of it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it because it follows Holden and his 'adventure' through New York. I can't help but to feel bad and also laugh at Holden because he's so young and naive. I would have liked this book better if I didn't have to read it for school and do assignments for it."

"The Flight of Gemma Hardy is one of those books which tried to hop on the wave of young adult novels ushered in by the hunger games and other books like it. This one has a romance novel aspect to it which makes it even more cringeworthy. Surely our young adults deserve more credit than this."

"It's a very good story of how things were about 100 years ago when people decided to settle in California and New Mexico from New York. It's a two woman story of how these two separate women made their mark in the new territories. Very little and non-offensive sexual content. Very little violence. It's a very good read."
