"I've always been a sucker for immersive writing that throws one into an alternate plane or universe. This would be a perfect example of the aforementioned. From page one, we are spirited away to a realm very unlike our own, however ironically similar (curious if that was purposeful). Great read. Emotional, struggle-resolve, depth, and believability at their apex."

"Yelena is a strong female lead character who kills her abuser which was an interesting premise. I wanted a bit more substance to the story though. At least a bit more of a connection between the characters. It's alright for a pickup but it's not exactly the best thing you'll ever read either. 3.5/5"

"This was a very interesting read. The author does a good job of writing about a fantasy setting, while still describing an old London very well. The main character is strong, but you understand the struggle she goes through when things get complicated."

"Honestly, it works as a great solution. In a world where we desperately need more and more young heroines, these novels serve as a great initial response. They bring forth multiple strong and three dimensional female role models, with complicated bloodsucking/human inner emotions. And best of all, it's a relatable, page turning story."
