"I'm kinda glad the solution isn't Twilight, since I really dislike that series. This one was pretty cool. St. Clair (Etienne) was an interesting character and I really liked Anna over his GF Ellie. Did they get together, though? I'm not telling you! Gotta read the book to find out, but I promise, it's a good book and if you like that one, you should read her other books ("Lola and The Boy Next Door" as well as "Isla and the Happily Ever After")."

"This is not a new book and has been around for some time. I bought this book as a birthday present for my teenage granddaughter and decided to read it before giving it to her. There have been controversy about this book since it deals with young love and sexuality that includes some quite specific erotic and sexual scenes. The book is a little dated given the craziness of today’s teenage world but the it is written with a teenage voice and deals with some sensitive and important issues square on. It is a lovely read and I hope of value to my granddaughter in helping her mature into a woman."

"This was a really good book but it was so long and there was so much going on that it was hard to stay focused. There are 4 story lines going on at the same time. The author did a great job of meshing them together. It was just so long that it was almost exhausting. I think I would have enjoyed it more had it been more than one book. The Unsung Hero (Troubleshooters) could have been shorter or split up to make it more enjoyable reading"

"Overall a pretty decent story with a lot of characters that you will get attached throughout your read, but I felt the series lacked an element that would keep me glued to the book until I finished it from front to back. All in all I think just about anyone will enjoy the story, but I think they will finish at their own pace."

"It was a cute and funny story with a breezy plot. The characters were a bit too average but they were very cutesy. Anna was a bit stereotypical but she was still really funny at times. I really enjoyed this book because it is very relatable. Even if you don't live on a beach or an island you can still relate to the events that happen between characters. My favorite part of the book was how Anna and Will go on their own types of dates, and not how everyone else does. Overall I think Sixteenth Summer is a well-written love story. "

Sara's Key and The Help were great but this is even better. I am even recommending it to my 16 year old son. He loves philosophy and the twists and turns which one can take intellectually. This is the first review that I have ever felt compelled to write for anything. Read the book and enjoy the journey like we did. you will not regret it! "

The story took a long time to develop, the main character was a bit selfish and the tone wasn’t sure what it was supposed to be ans was all over the place. The other characters are also barely likeable. Also nothing happens with it until the last page! It was just a cute read that was attempting to discuss a more serious issue but felt forced and lacked the depth it needed to really get to that point."

"I would not quite call this a romance book, and I think it has other issues as well. It is supposed to be a companion book or a re-imagining of another, more famous work, but is simply not as well-written due to the author's general lack of experience relative to the previous works' author. Some elements of the plot are just unbelievable or realistic. Other books work better as romance books, and other books are also better as mysteries; some are probably better as both."

While the story is captivating, I have to admit that it was difficult to read. Not because of the prose which again is well honed and precise. But because I nearly lost my own eyesight when I looked at the cover of the book.
