When you think of the year that has just started, being excited about 2020 new movie releases is a sure thing. Some of the most long-awaited films that have long been announced are finally coming this year and who isn't hyped about them? Whether these movies are going to be blockbusters or flops is another thing to talk about. After all, big name-actors and surefire Oscar-winning directors do not guarantee a film's commercial success. Scorsese, Tarantino, DeCaprio, and even De Niro - name it. Almost all bigshot names in Hollywood had at least one box-office bomb experience. If you want a recent reference, just look at 2019's much-hyped titles like 'Dark Phoenix' and 'Men In Black: International'. Both movies were highly anticipated by fans yet did underwhelmingly upon its release.

The box-office can be a ruthless place for sure. One may consider a certain film as a sure Oscar bet but the same title may be scrapped out by poor audience reception in an instant. Of course, not all movies that flop probably deserves their misfortune. You can blame it on weird storylines, bad casting choices, or simply because its overall just a bad film. Box-office flops in 2020 may occur but it is yet too early to assess the outcome. However, here are some of the biggest movies that are most likely to flop this year. So give this list a peek before you plan on your next trip to the cinemas. Loads of movies are coming out and flopping is inevitable. We are probably just waiting for the ones that will fall first.

"I sure did not like the first trailers that came out as Sonic looked really ugly back then. After all the editing, I guess this film ain't destined to be a box-office flop"
