All fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are geared up for the upcoming Black Widow movie. Scarlett Johansson has been looking great as she takes on the role of the sassy-looking super spy and this makes people more excited. As we have seen glimpses of her in the past MCU films, including her sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame, we believe there is much more to be seen in her feature film. But do fans really know much about this ruthless lady superhero? Born in the Soviet Union as Natalia Alianovna Romanova, there is not much known about her parental lineage and family backstory. Still, fans are glad that she has found her way to the Avengers as she was rescued by Steve Rogers and Logan.
Natasha Romanoff's past as a Marvel supervillain is something that sets her apart from other staples of the franchise. Her ideological shift plus her rumored romances are something that the much-anticipated film might explore, although nothing has been guaranteed for Marvel fans. However, based on the Black Widow movie trailer, we are going to be treated to a look at her alternate white suit. Also, skirmishes with her counterpart, Yelena Belova, is something to look out for. For sure, Nat has been one of the best characters created by Stan Lee, both as portrayed in the comics and films. It is just right to zero-in on her this time around. As we welcome Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the Black Widow movie, why not pack some much-needed knowledge? In this list, we have some of the most interesting facts about Natasha Romanoff which you should know.
MCU fans have always seen Black Widow wearing that black S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform. However, she has different variants of fits that she has sported throughout her appearances in pop culture as can be seen in Marvel comic books. The famous black costume first appeared in 2012's Marvel's The Avengers, which she wore while on the helicarrier and during the battle with Loki's forces. Prior to that though, one would only see her wearing a gown and a veil when going on missions.
The MCU films have not explored a much deeper romance angle for Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff, for now. Black Widow was mostly limited to a supporting role prior to her Avengers stint. Hawkeye, on the other hand, was a simple cameo in Thor. This leaves fans hoping for more moments to dig deeper into these two Marvel superheroes' special relationship. After all, Natasha moved to the States for Clint. If only there was a film to capture what they had before Black Widow met her demise as we saw in the Endgame.
Whether Nat's knowledge of ballet was acquired for a certain espionage mission or whatever purpose, this is something that not all lady superheroes have in their arsenal. Those precious snippets of her doing ballet in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ will always be stuck in the head of her hardcore followers although not much has been said about it. One thing is for sure though, and that her ballet skills are one of the best things she has acquired from her Red Room training.
Can you even imagine Scarlett Johansson sporting her Black Widow costume as a supervillain? Well, at least in Marvel Comics, this was the case. Natasha Romanoff was first introduced in Tales of Suspense #52, way back in 1964. As Marvel fans, people should be aware that she wasn't intended to be of help to the U.S. in any way as she was training. The USSR had put her into the Red Room for a reason but luckily for us, things just didn't turn out the way they wanted to as she found her way into the Avengers lineup.
