The ever-expanding universe of Star Wars doesn’t seem to know what the word stop means. Not convinced? Then what can you say about the newest expansion to this franchise called the High Republic? Clearly, the executives of Lucasfilm doesn’t know how to stop. But now that we’re gonna see what Obi-Wan was talking about, who are we to complain? If you don’t remember what he said, that’s okay. He just told Anakin Skywalker on the first Star Wars Film this line: “For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic before the dark times, before the Empire.” So there you have it. The High Republic is mainly based on that line.
Instead of a new movie, fans are treated with several published materials. The phase one of the High Republic era is told in three different novels and two different comics. All of these works are written by five different authors. The first work would be Charles Soule’s The High Republic: Light of the Jedi which will set the main conflict in the series. This will be followed by Justina Ireland’s The High Republic: A Test of Courage and Claudia Gray’s The High Republic: Into the Dark. Cavan Scott’s comic book series Star Wars: The High Republic and Daniel José Older’s Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures will wrap up the project. Though little is known about the story’s course, we do know some interesting facts about the project. Want to know what these are?
