What are the rarest Pokemon cards?

The Pokemon Trading Card game has been around since 1996 and has endured the years with loyal followership. You can get card packs to get you started pretty easily but others are harder, near impossible to acquire such as these cards considered to be some of the rarest Pokemon cards in the world.

    The Pikachu Illustrator is a special edition hologram Pokemon Trading Card. It was a promotional card that was awarded to the winner of the CoroCoro Comic Illustration Contest that was held back in January of 1998 with only 39 copies of it ever made and released.

    The Prerelease Raichu is a rare Pokemon Trading Card with only 10 copies in existence. The prerelease designation on the card was meant to be distributed to friends and family of the employees and was never meant to be brought into circulation.

      "Allegedly, this card only had 10 copies and was just supposed to be for the employees of Wizards of the Coast, the company who manufactures Pokemon cards. These cards should cost a pretty penny for anyone willing to sell them."

    The First Edition Shadowless Holographic Blastoise is one of the rarest and most coveted Pokemon Cards today. They are part of the First Edition Holographic card prints that came out in the late 1990s and had the same shadowless detail "error" that these cards were known for.
