If you're a huge Star Wars fan, then you've been waiting for this one to arrive for a while now. You know what I'm talking about. The final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has officially been released!
We finally get to see one final glimpse before the ultimate battle between the forces of good and evil commences in the culmination of the Star Wars Saga that started all those decades ago towards its epic conclusion.
As with any trailer, there are bound to be hidden gems to be discovered so join us as we take a look at what are the top easter eggs in The Rise of Skywalker final trailer below.
At the end of the trailer, we see Rey confront a dark figure and it looks awfully like the Emperor himself. It was debated how he would make his return and whether it be in physical form or as a Sith Spirit. It seems we got our answer. The Emperor is back in the flesh and is mobile.
It was just for a split second, but we see Rey and Kylo seemingly working together to destroy a mysterious object. It has been theorized that it might have been a pedestal with Darth Vader's helmet that they were trying to destroy. More curiously though is what Rey was holding in her left hand, which looks like some sort of ceremonial dagger. We're curious as to what purpose it served or will serve.
We first see Rey and Kylo face-off on top of the wreckage of the second Death Star but the trailer also shows them inside it, in the Emperor's old throne room. It's only fitting that their duel included this room as this was also the same room that Luke and Darth Vader once fought in the Return of the Jedi.
Babu Frik is a brilliant little hacker that was introduced during Force Friday that is able to reprogram any android and so he did with C3PO, presumably to his once red-eyed killing machine mode. This was also something that could not be taken back and was further supported by C3PO's heartfelt goodbye to everyone.
Numerous ships have assembled together to join in on the fight and as expected, it's Millennium Falcon leading the pack. Now, this might not turn out to be true but if you look closely though, you'll notice a ship that looks like the Hammerhead Corvette from Rogue One just behind. Even more surprising though is the ship to its left looks a lot like the Ghost from Star Wars Rebels.
As we here the Emperor utter his words, "Long have I waited. And now, your coming together is your undoing", there is a heavy sense of foreboding that it going on. This is no better supported with a sinister shot of the Emperor's Throne, which would serve as his new one as he emerges from the icy depths.
The Resistance has come together to fight against the First Order and the return of the Emperor. Lando Calrissian probably had a hand in finding more allies to join the much larger Resistance after only a few of them survived the attack from the First Order. If you look closely though, you'll see someone familiar just behind Lando. It's Aftab, the son of Admiral Ackbar, presumably to avenge the death of his father after the event of The Last Jedi.
The trailer starts off with Rey dropping a blast-helmet as she continues to run through a forest to do her training. The helmet is symbolic and is a perfect tribute to Luke Skywalker as it was similar to the one he was using before he started his training in A New Hope.
