Without a doubt, BTS is one of the biggest artists of the decade. Although the path leading to their global success and impact was no walk in the park. The 7-member Korean group debuted on June 13, 2013, with their hip-hop title track No More Dream. They came from a former small entertainment company known as BigHit Entertainment. When they started out, they weren't taken seriously by many people. They received backlash for their hip-hop concept, songs, looks, among other things. The seven members of BTS, known as RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook had to work extra hard to be where they are today. From sleepless nights producing their own music, learning choreography, and practicing their vocals. The first few years were especially difficult for BTS because of the financial struggles of their company. Although that didn't hinder them from releasing albums, performances, music videos, and more. They were underdogs who became one of the established artists in the music industry. To give a brief summary of their achievements: they have four #1 albums in the Billboard 200 chart. They are also one of the most influential people according to TIME Magazine. BTS, specifically RM, also had the chance to give a speech in the U.N. Assembly for their UNICEF LOVE MYSELF campaign. If we were to list down their achievements, it would take all day. Although aside from their music and awards, BTS also gained a solid fanbase because of their personalities. Where others shy away and put a barrier between artists and fans, they always treat their fans well. The successful group will always thank their fans every chance they get. Despite their growing success, they remain humble and introspective. If you're a baby ARMY who wants to learn more about the legends that are BTS, this is for you!

  1. 1BTS continue to make and break records

    16

As mentioned earlier, BTS was named as one of the most influential people by TIME Magazine. They were even dubbed as Next Generation Leaders. This is quite a feat for artists, let alone a group that was born and raised in Korea. Aside from being recognized by the media, they also break records with their songs and music video. Their MV Boy With Luv became the most-viewed music video in 24 hours and even made it to the Guinness Book of World Records.

  1. 2How V became a BTS member

    12

Each of the members of BTS has a tale of how they became a member of the group but perhaps V or Kim Taehyung's origin story might be one for the books. Years back, V only meant to accompany his friend who was auditioning for another band in BigHit Entertainment. Although the BigHit staff convinced V to audition and he ended up earning a place as a member of BTS instead of his friend. It's kind of a funny story.

  2. 3Hip-hop roots

    9

Before the formation of BTS, RM and Suga were already part of the underground hip-hop scene in Korea. They spat fire with the names Runch Randa and Gloss, respectively. In a way, this influenced BigHit Entertainment's founder Bang Si Hyuk or Hitman Bang to debut the group with a hip-hop concept. BTS' earlier discography consisted of hip-hop beats, notably their first song as a group, No More Dream.

  1. 4BTS Universe

    2

If the Marvel stans have the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ARMYs are immersed in the BTS Universe. The BTS or Bangtan Universe is a tragic and compelling storyline that started to unfold in their Youth Trilogy (HYYH). You can see bits and pieces of the storyline in their music videos RUN and I Need U as well as their highlight reels. Fans have come up with many theories since the BTS Universe has a rich storyline. The BTS Universe has been adapted into a novel, a webtoon (Save Me), and soon, BigHit will put out a full-length film for it.

  2. 5Jimin's solo breaking a record

    1

On December 31, 2018, BTS' Jimin released a solo track on the free music streaming platform SoundCloud titled Promise. In the first 24 hours since the song was uploaded, it had over 8 million streams. Soon enough, Jimin's Promise beat the record for the most-streamed song on SoundCloud and the song produced and sung by Jimin has over 200 million streams and counting.
