Do you believe that love is blind? Honestly, it seems like it when you take it literally, especially when it comes to blind dates. On a deeper level, some people even try to justify its 'blindness' by saying that when we fall in love, we only see the goodness in people; And that when we fall head over heels for someone, we choose to selectively look at their positive side. The truth is it feels more the other way around. In fact, we believe that love gives us every possible perspective there is, from the most shallow to the deepest one; That when we are deeply in love, we see all the imperfections but we choose to look beyond those liabilities and realize that we love the person for everything that they are and not. That, dear friends, is the premise of Netflix's newest dating reality show, Love Is Blind.
Just in time before Valentine's Day, The Circle-inspired reality show premiered on February 13, 2020. And since Netflix has drawn inspiration from the British reality TV show on Chanel 4, Love Is Blind's episodes will not be released all at once. On its premiere date, it aired only 5 episodes with the succeeding ones to be shown in the following weeks--it means we are expecting weekly treats from them! So, who are we seeing on the screen upon watching Love Is Blind? Well, we are expecting 30 singles of opposite genders, separately living in dorm-like quarters. The magic happens in the pods situated in the middle of the rooms. We say magic because this is where love works wonders with them. Blind dating slash speed dating it is! Couples who get engaged will have the opportunity to see each other. Until then they are only allowed to communicate through their voices! So, is love really blind? Let's see!
An amalgamation of a social experiment and a reality series, Love Is Blind is Netflix's newest series that centers around blind dating (or marrying). Unlike any other dating reality shows, it gives emphasis on connections between soon-to-be potential couples over gimmicks!
True to the show's premise, Nick and Vanessa Lachey's love story started in a very bizarre way. It seemed like love at first sight! The two met when Nick was still married to his first wife, Jessica Simpson. From there on, the attraction between the Miss Teen USA 1998 and the boy band singer from 98 Degrees just went from 0 to 100!
Although this television series is considered to be episodic, Netflix decided not to release all the first 3 parts in just one go. Instead, each batch of episodes will be released in a span of 3 weeks. So, be sure to never miss out on each episode by watching Love Is Blind online!
Both yes and no! It really is a blind date in the sense that couples don't get to see each other's faces at the onset--they are literally 'blind'. They are separated by a wall and they can only communicate with each other through their voices. Yet, it doesn't stop there! The goal here is for them to both take the relationship on to the next level by going out on a date and soon get married!
The thing is, the only way for a couple to finally meet is when the guy proposes to the girl and of course, the girl has to say 'yes'. Only then will the great wall between them will be put down. They'll be then sent to a vacation in Mexico for them to get to know each other deeper and develop a stronger connection.
