What are the top WTF moments in the Arrow series finale?

Dave - Contributor

Arrow, the superhero TV series based on the Green Arrow and the one that started the whole Arrowverse has had its swan song. The importance of this show cannot be stressed enough and how much of an impact it has made in the whole superhero TV space. It's no secret that when it comes to films, Marvel Comics has the edge over DC Comics. The case is reversed when it comes to the small screen though. DC has a far wider presence and influence in the TV space and one of the main proponents of that is due to the fact that Arrow exists. The show first debuted back in October of 2012 and concluded in January of 2020. The show features multiple story arcs, tackling the Green Arrow's history. From his time in Lian Yu to his career as a crime-fighting vigilante, there was a lot to tell.

With Arrow being its flagship show, the Arrowverse birthed an entire superhero TV show franchise. The first to be born of this is The Flash, which debuted a couple of years later back in October 2014. This was followed by Supergirl and the time-traveling superteam, Legends of Tomorrow, in 2015 and 2016. Black Lightning released in 2018 with the latest one being Batwoman to round out the entire Arrowverse so far. So as you can see, although Arrow has concluded its run, it leaves behind a legacy that will continue on in its name. Arrow recently had its series finale and we can't help and but look back and see this last episode one more time. In fact, we've made a list of some of the top WTF moments in the Arrow series finale that we would like to share with you guys. Check it out below and tell us what you thought and even drop your fondest memory of this show in the comments section below.

  1. 1The Green Lantern Connection

As the series finale episode of the show was nearing its end, there was a scene in which we saw John Diggle get blown away as an object crashed down on Earth. As he was inspecting the crater, he picks up a strange box that gave out a green glow when he opened it. We already know that a Green Lantern show was in the works for HBO but could this is be hinting that Diggle will take up arms as a member of the Green Lantern Corps?

  1. 2The Funeral

When the funeral scene finally showed during the series finale of the show, it was quite a surreal sight to see every that became part of the Oliver Queen's story being there. The people that have been brought back to life when Oliver rebooted the universe sent chills down our spine and we still couldn't believe that they were actually there, attending his funeral.

  2. 3Reunion in the Afterlife

We already knew from season 7 of the show that Felicity and Oliver would eventually be reunited with the help of The Monitor. In the end, they finally reunited in a familiar place, Moira Queen's office at the Queen Consolidated building that according to Oliver, was the first time they first met, leaving Felicity confused. He then uttered, "Lucky for us, we have all the time in the world for me to tell it to you".

  1. 4Green Arrow and the Canaries

Oliver Queen may be gone but his legacy lives on through his daughter, Mia, who has taken up the mantle as the new Green Arrow... along with the Canaries. News of a Green Arrow and the Canaries spin-off show has been circulating around for a while but the series finale just hinted and gave a glimpse of what we could expect should it come to fruition in the near future. Fingers crossed!

  2. 5Mother-Daughter Meeting

It was a bitter-sweet time for mother and daughter, Felicity and Mia Smoak during the series finale. They both were able to properly say goodbye to Oliver during his funeral. For Mia, she able to see her mother and spend precious time with her during an important time. For Felicity, being able to see a future version of her daughter makes her feel proud that Mia has grown up to a fine and strong woman and superhero.
