If there is one thing Apple TV+ is good at, it is telling an old story anew! It's as if they give a whole new life to a classic tale, person, or a show, for that matter. Take, for instance, the story of the prolific 19th-century poet, Emily Dickinson. There may have been a lot of different perspectives but Apple TV+ decided to present it in a very audacious and comedic way. And this 2020, the newborn baby in the streaming industry is bringing back a cult-favorite TV show. A reimagining of the 1985 series of the same name, Amazing Stories (2020) will remain to be an anthology show. Interestingly, Steven Spielberg will play a huge part in the Amazing Stories reboot as he greatly did in the 1985 version, except that he's with Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz, and two other showrunners in partnership with Universal TV and Amblin Television this time around.
For those who haven't seen an episode of the classic Amazing Stories over two decades ago, it's going to center around the genres of fantasy, horror, and sci-fi. And to live up to the hype, actors such as Dylan O'Brien, Victoria Pedretti, Josh Holloway, and a lot more are going to appear in some episodes. So, you better watch out for that! Before the much-awaited debut of the show on March 6, 2020, Apple TV+ tipped us off that the reboot will follow the original approach of the 1985 show.--that just means every story is going to be different and unique! By the way, just a friendly tip: if you have recently bought an iOS device, whether a Mac, an iPhone, or iPad, you can claim your 12-month Apple TV+ free trial right away! Stay tuned for the official release so you can watch Amazing Stories online! Meanwhile, you can watch Dickison online here!
Did you know Amazing Stories (2020) is going to be Apple TV+'s first-ever foray into producing original content? While it is undeniably true that Apple has been a key player in the tech industry, its video-on-demand web service is relatively new in the parlance of streaming. Apple TV+, alongside its major competitors, Netflix and Hulu, has secured a spot in the industry after its exclusive shows such as The Morning Show (starring Jennifer Anniston), See (featuring Jason Momoa), and Dickinson (Hailee Steinfeld), were warmly welcomed by fans and subscribers. And this year, Apple TV+ is stepping up its game by allotting a whopping 5 million dollars per episode of the 1985 reboot of Amazing Stories. This is according to a report by The Wall Street Journal that Apple has closed a deal with Spielberg's Amblin Television for the said reboot.
For some millennials, a short walk down the memory lane of the 1985 version of Amazing Stories would be helpful, we figured. So, just so you know, it had a good run on NBC-TV after Steven Spielberg agreed to produce the action-adventure TV series for the network. It may feel like it's just gonna be another no-brainer remake but, mind you, we could only imagine the pressure on the new set of showrunners of the upcoming 2020 version. Recalling how the original show bagged 5 out of 12 Emmy Awards nomination back then, we can safely understand the reason why it has been buoyed with positive expectations from all TV show buffs!
