Tony Stark had an unexpected reunion with his father, Howard Stark, as they return to the '70s in search of more Pym Particles. That time, Tony was still an unborn child. We all remember Frigga's death in Thor: Dark World. So, it is not a surprise that the Asgard Queen's reappearance in Avenger's: Endgame would make fans tear up a little bit. Thor and Rocket Raccoon traveled back in time to get the Reality Stone. Frigga immediately felt the presence of his son (like a true mother) and they had a short mother-and-son moment that we deserve. Her advice led Thor to give up the throne and to forge his own destiny.
The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) shows up once more in a scene with Bruce Banner aka The Hulk. Their discussion revolved around the Infinity Stones with a particular interest in the Time Stone. The Sorcerer Supreme explained how the branching timelines occur and the importance of returning the stones exactly back to its original timeline.
Avengers: Endgame runs the emotional touch of mother-son and father-son relationships. While we are at it, here's a sister-sister connection that we all know featuring Gamora (Zoe Saldana). Her shocking death in Infinity War is hard to take knowing that the "Thanos' snap" happened after the event. We all know that this only means that her death could not be reversed. However, we got to see the most dangerous woman in the universe come back to help. Gamora finds out that she soon had a better relationship with her sister Nebula causing her to rejoin forces with the Avengers.
The stunning Asgardian warrior, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), returns in Avengers: Endgame riding her mighty winged-horse. Let's all admit that THAT sent chills down our spine. What made her appearance extra surprising is her debut as the new ruler of Asgard as seen in the latter part of the film.
