Shante, you stay or sashay away. Over the years, we’ve seen who shante-ed and who sashay-ed in each season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. While RuPaul’s the one who mainly decides who stays or goes, he does have several judges to help him with the decision. And you know what, most fans of the show think that several alumni would make great judges. With their firsthand experience as contestants and as career women or men, they’d be perfect to help RuPaul sift through the razzle-dazzle of the racers in the show. You might think it’s easy to pick up former contestants and make them judges but that’s not the case. It takes expertise and personality to secure a spot behind the tables. With that said, start your engines and let's meet the fabulous queens that would make the best judges.
Raven, Raven, Raven. Always the runner-up, never the winner. This professional drag queen, makeup artist, performer, and comedian from Riverside, California has the most potential to be judging the new racers. Did you know that she’s been doing RuPaul’s makeup since season 9? That’s how good she is. And if you remember all her performances, Raven’s drag skills are just superior to most.
Raja Gemini, season 3’s ultimate drag queen superstar, has an impressive resume. She’s not only an experienced drag queen, but her career as a professional make up artist is enough to give her a spot in the judges’ table. She was the head makeup artist in Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model from cycles 4 to 12. Her clientele also includes big names such as Pamela Anderson, Iggy Azalea, Dita Von Teese, and Adam Lambert.
Season 8 winner Bob the Drag Queen is a perfect queen to judge the new racers. She’s fabulous and hilarious, her being a judge would definitely bring in a lot of fun. Not to mention that she’s the drag mother of Miz Cracker and drag sibling Monet X Change, both successful contestants of different seasons. Bob the Drag Queen proves that she’s got experience in shaping up other queens.
Bianca Del Rio, season 6’s winner, is not only a drag queen, but is also a comedian, performer, costume designer, and a business person. Being on tour after the show, she’s the most successful alum of the series. That makes her one of the most qualified queens to give notes to the new contestants. Her hilarious nature will also blend well with the current panel of judges.
A big superfan of the franchise, Alaska deserves to be a judge on the show. Though she didn’t win in season 5, she came out victorious in the All Stars 2. This girl burned to flames and rose up from her ashes. In other words, she learned from her mistakes and improved herself to become victorious. Isn’t that inspirational enough to put her on the panel of judges?
