Genesam Credo - Contributor

Among the many iconic fights in Star Wars, perhaps, the battle of 'who is the most powerful Jedi' remains to be timeless and relevant up to date. And we should thank George Lucas for introducing a lot more powerful Jedi to stan since the franchise's inception in 1977. While not all of them can sure defeat the Death Star, one thing is certain, they have a certain way of wielding a lightsaber that would definitely defeat anybody who gets in the way. It is sad though that some of the most powerful Jedi ever chose to fall to the Dark Side. Nevertheless, our list contains some of the strongest Jedi to have ever existed in the Star Wars universe!

  1. 1Luke Skywalker

Topping the chart of the most powerful Jedi ever is Luke Skywalker who has been voted by almost every Star Wars fan. Well, this doesn't mean that the other characters here are any less powerful. They all are, it's just that Luke was trained by another legendary Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. He fought for the Rebels and was branded as a Galactic Civil War hero. His immense strength was manifested when he put up a good fight against the Empire and destroyed the first Death Star. He then eradicated any further chance of engineering the second Death Star. His legacy remains to be iconic in the parlance of Star Wars today!

  1. 2Obi-Wan Kenobi

We know how the question 'who is the most powerful Jedi' caused too much stir among Star War fans across the world. And when it comes to Obi-Wan Kenobi, some claim him as the most powerful Jedi ever since he served as a mentor to both Anakin and Luke Skywalker. Well, it totally makes sense. He was the first-ever Jedi to take down a Sith Lord. Remember when Anakin became part of the Dark Side? Obi-Wan Kenobi triumphed against Anakin Skywalker and that just shows us that the Master still prevails. Whenever he wields a lightsaber, his mastery just couldn't help but show up, especially when he was able to kill Darth Maul. Played by Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor, Obi-Wan remains to be an iconic Star Wars character.

  2. 3Yoda

Master Yoda is the epitome of small but terrible. If you have been asking yourself 'who is the most powerful Jedi?', then you may have found one of the best possible answers. Yoda's mastery and prowess in wielding lightsabers and vibroblades, he is certainly one you might not want to mess up with. He may be old but his age is just proof that he is a veteran Jedi who has an immersive master of the Force. It is also worth mentioning that he almost never faltered in every fight he was in. He faced Darth Sidious and Count Dooku with all his might.

  1. 4Mace Windu

If inventing a new form of lightsaber battle doesn't make you the most powerful Jedi ever, then Mace Windu might just leave the group. And yes, he invented Vaapad. Apart from his apparent outer strength and prowess in wielding a lightsaber, his full and untainted strength lies in his inner self. He never fell to the Dark Side among all the practitioners of Vaapad. His strong telekinesis power conflated with his fighting skills led him to become a general. Did you know that he once disarmed Darth Sidious? Unfortunately, Anakin Skywalker came in the picture and intervened in that epic battle.

  2. 5Qui-Gon Jinn

People would always recognize Qui-Gon as Obi-Wan's master and the one who discovered Anakin Skywalker. But little did they know that Qui-Gon was the first-ever immortal Jedi. And yes, if that doesn't make him one of the most power Jedi ever, we don't know what would! He was the first Jedi Knight to discover about the possibility of after life for a Jedi. Did you know that he even get to train Master Yoda? As a result, it paved the way for both Yoda and Obi-Wan to return as Force Ghosts after their death.
